Hoje, 2 de julho, é comemorado o Dia Nacional do Bombeiro. Uma homenagem a todos os heróis brasileiros que arriscam diariamente suas vidas para salvar pessoas, proteger cidades, florestas, entre outras funções primordiais para a sociedade.
A data foi escolhida em homenagem à criação do Corpo de Bombeiros da Corte, inaugurado em 2 de junho de 1856, no Rio de Janeiro. Na época, ele estava sob comando do Major João Batista de Morais Antas. O dia foi instituído através do decreto-lei nº 35.309, de 2 de abril de 1954.
Contexto histórico: O que você não sabia sobre o Dia Nacional do Bombeiro
Naquela época, antes do Imperador D. Pedro II assinar o Decreto Imperial que regulamentava o Serviço de Bombeiros, o badalar dos sinos significava um sinal de que vários integrantes da sociedade (homens, mulheres e crianças) deveriam formar uma fila no poço mais próximo, passar baldes de mão em mão até chegar ao local do incêndio e assim ajudar a apagá-lo.

165 anos do CBMERJ
O Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (CBMERJ) também completa hoje 165 anos. Em homenagem, às 17h30, no corcovado, haverá uma bênção à corporação e a iluminação do Cristo Redentor ficará em vermelho. A Cerimônia será realizada no Quartel Central a partir das 19 horas e vai contar com a entrega do espadim Marechal Souza Aguiar aos cadetes do primeiro ano do Curso de Formação de Oficiais. Além disso, haverá apresentações musicais da Banda Sinfônica da Corporação e simulação de salvamentos.
Como é tradição na solenidade a tropa realiza uma demonstração profissional com exercícios que fazem parte da rotina diária dos militares. Alumas atividades como rapel, escalada da torre, descida invertina, entre outras, são apresentadas. Além de, simulação de combate a incêndio e de atendimentos pré-hospitalares.
O Corpo de Bombeiros do Rio de Janeiro também prestou homenagem através das redes sociais.
